Just like last year’s Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 is another remake of a classic game. Despite having modern graphics and improved gameplay, RE 3 still has all the elements of the original game. With a deadly ecosystem, horrific opponents, exciting boss battles, and stellar action, Resident Evil 3 is an absolutely brilliant game. This redo of RE 3 has a strong first impression, but still, the gaming community has mixed feeling about it. For some, Resident Evil 3 remake was not as good as the original game. But in my personal opinion, this remake was absolutely amazing and it definitely did justice to the original game.
Plot:
This year Jill Valentine, the Original Resident Evil Heroin is back. She is being chased by the iconic and unstoppable creature: Nemesis, a reference to the past release. All she wants is to escape the Raccoon City, which like the older version is the central aspect of the game’s plot.
Capcom did a pretty good job at recreating Jill’s character! Her design is just as good as ever, and her personality is just as charming as it used to be. Like the Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil 3 has also managed to make the characters seem as nostalgic as ever.
RE 3’s intro this year is way better, it gives you more creeps and a sense of fear and terror that adheres with the franchise, and Jill again proves her boldness by taking everything in her way upfront. The remake is pretty much associated with the previous game. There are even moments in the story that you might know of or some locations that link you back to the last remake. However, you will not miss anything pertinent if you have not played RE 2.
You will also cross paths with some amazing supporting characters like mercenary Carlos Oliveira.
Multiplayer Mode:
Along with RE 3 remake, Resident Evil: Resistance is a significant add on. RE Resistance is an online mode in which four survivors play against a lone enemy. It is a much better try of the franchise as compared to the previous experiment of online horror, Resident Evil Outbreak. All four survivors use different skills to fight the monsters and complete objectives. On the other hand, one enemy player will lay traps and observe through security cameras. He will also summon monsters and manipulate the environment to defeat the group of four and fail their escape plan. Playing as the lone mastermind is fun. You can see the other side of the survivor’s horrific gameplay. It is really satisfying to destroy the survivor’s defense and snatch away all hopes of escape. It is a real-time strategy survival game which is an absolute blast.
Like all other games of the franchise, RE 3 also focuses on item management. You will have several weapons during your adventure; however, ammo is rare. You must make every bullet count. Many times, in the game, it will be better to avoid zombies rather than wasting the precious ammunition you have. It also has limited inventory space. No matter how tempting it is, you will not be able to carry all the ammo and weapons you find. You will find some extensions during the game, but you still must make sound choices. Item management itself is a big challenge in RE 3.
Sound plays a critical role in creating the frightening experience. The background music and score maintain the right level of tension. It also becomes real exciting when the sound cuts off as well, you hear your footsteps and distant moans. You will also listen to zombies moving and dragging themselves around. It also helps you prevent yourself from running into the monsters and enhances the overall experience of the game.
Resident Evil 3 remake is a classic reborn, but however, the game has a relatively shorter campaign which is a primary put off. It is a well-made game that gives presents a nostalgic story in a very unique manner. The game is an absolute must-play as it definitely does the series justice!
